After four Asia 2001 albums on his Trans'pact label, French trance wizard Martin Cooper releases his Ama Zone album. This is his first release on Avatar. Most of the tracks on the album were in rotation in trance parties, Super JV, Full Moon Project and Vertige that was selected by Goa Gil for his live mix at the Burning Man festival.
Ama Zone not only marked his distinguished path even further, the album has managed to generate a buzz that brought Sony Music to pick up and licensed the album, making it available also in East Asia. People were turned on to the music of Asia 2001 and the album sold a staggering 20,000 units shortly after it was out. Eventually this is the first trance album to be released locally in India. This album was a trigger and set a chain reaction. Bombay and Delhi, as well as other cities in India, were exposed to the music. Tracks from Ama Zone were played on public buses, rickshaws, and even as back drop music for advertisements on local TV. People were hooked to the music, and the result was a wave of trance releases hitting India, and the rest is known...
Since Cooper's music is friendly trance, people related to it and were hooked to his style. Ama Zone is a distinctive Album, tech sounds melting like a liquid alloy into lush pads and crisp rhythms.
Ama Zone is a classic and is considered as one of his best albums.
